Category: Getting to Know You
Hey, all.
Just a warning, MidwestMegaMouth, AKA 3M is on the Zone, so run, run for your lives, assuming you have one.
I've had a membership since back in March of 2013, but haven't really done anything on The Zone for now except board stalking. A phrase I actually read on one of the boards and really loved, so, I'm ganking it, TIA. LOL
I did fill out a profile, but for some reason, the changes never stuck.
So until I get that fixed, a bit about me: I'm from the Midwest, but not a huge town. I have a Black Lab guide Dog, a BA in English, like computers, reading just about anything regardless of subject matter language, sex, and violence isn't usually a stumbling block for me; learning my iPhone I've had since January and basically trying to find something to keep my mind occupied. One of my personal long range life goals is to never stop learning and growing mentally. Plus, most of the volunteer stuff I've done has ended, so I have more spare time and I'd love to make new friends and new contacts. I'm not much of a foloower and I have a low threshhold for people whining just to be whining if they have options for correcting some of their issues.
I read horror, humor, mysteries, nonfiction if it's about animals, writers/celebrities that interest me, or just a really weird subject depending on my mood.
I'm not religious, though I'd consider myself a sort of lapsed Agnostic with an Eastern leaning.
Music tastes are varied, but not necesarily out there. AT stuff from the 60's up to today, some Alternitive, some country, some New Age, Dance, Hip/Hop, you name it, I'll at least listen to a song once.
As far as TV, Described stuff is nice, but I can do it either way. I like comedies like older South Park, Family Guy, The Big Bang Theory, stuff like that. Dramas would be ER, House, CSI, and one I'm getting into thanks to my sister. . . Dexter. Shows on National Geographic and old school Discovery are cool, too.
Food ranges from salads and healthy stuff to pizza pasta and just about anything from Schwan's.
Okay, that's about it. I'm a fairly open person, so just ask. Also, be considerate about the quick notes thing. I need to fix it so I don't get slammed by notes when I log in, not that your Friendly 3M isn't all about the red carpet treatment.

Welcome back. I enjoy travelling, and my favorite place that I've often past through is the midwestern region. The wide open plains are a wonderful sight out the window of a train, and my favorite city in the country is Chicago. I'm also in to horror and some mystery but I haven't read as much as I used to.
Chicago's a bit of a drive for me, but I'd consider living there if the cost of living wasn't so hi for me. Just getting around here can really suck sometimes.
First of all, hi, and I see you posted on my Dark Tower topic. I don't want to just say too much about me because it's all in my profile. You did mention you enjoyed movies and TV with and without description and I suppose I'm the same way. Been totally blind all my life and grew up with movies and TV and did a lot of TV-watching completely alone so had to just use the old noodle to try and fill in the blanks. I don't know if you're into these but I do enjoy stupid cheap low budget horror and sci-fi flicks, especially of the Fifties and Sixties. If you ever ran across shows like Mystery Science Theater 3000, those are the kind of movies I collect and enjoy, and those are never going to be described for all I know unless a company is cheap since many of the really horrid flicks are public domain.
Me, I just need my issues fixed. Can you help me?
Smile.
Hi and welcome. I'm from Ohio which many people refer to as part of the Midwest, but really I think it's too far east for that, but nobody asked me.
I also love reading and have way too many favorite authors to mention. I listed a lot of them in my profile, but I'm always finding more that I like.
Have fun on the zone.
hi! and welcome. i'm ritchie, and i'm a loooong time lurker here and don't really know anyone personally here. but none the less, welcome!
Sounds like we have a lot of things in common, so feel free to give me a shout when we're online or send me a private message. 60s to today for music? Big Bang Theory? Never wanting to stop learning? On and on. Let's get in touch.
